Lesson two

Now that I have added the body tag and by saying bgcolor=orange I now have a page with an orange back ground and this note that I have written within the body tag.
Note: As you can see the closing body tag is below।
Now we have a blank orange page, the title does not appear but appears in the status bar.
Create a folder on your desk top call it mysite and save the file.

I think it is a good as any time to open your note pad.
If you are using Mac OSX you’ll need to go to preference: select plain text.
Also select Ignore rich text command in HTML files.
HTML files may not work if the preference is not changed, so my advice is to change it.
So now you can now write these in your text editor.
Once you write the codes shown it's file save as index.html or index.htm.
This will be the first page your visitors will see.

First Lesson

Basic Website
Having looked at different type of Videos and Books made and written on web design.
I realize that there is a need for a simpler explanation written in layman terms.
I once had a brilliant maths lecturer; this guy really knew his stuff.
As do these guys that make these video and write these book.
Only one problem as with my doctor of mathematics, they have problems
relaying the topic to the ordinary person।
So this is why I have decided to write this basic understanding of: HTML

HTML:
Meaning hyper text mark-up language.
Hyper, well I’ll say relax don’t get jumpy and don’t be nervous be excited.
Why get excited because it’s not rocket science.
HTML is the God of any web page take this as gospel.
I don’t intend to start a bible lesson but as it is in the beginning so shall
it be in the end.

Take note of the forward slash which closes the tag, all tags must be closed
Except for the line break and the horizontal rule

So the first thing is to put the creator at the beginning and at the ending.
It’s as simple as that.
With God looking lonely we'll create some company for him.
What we’ll need is to make man or women.
What ever sex are they will need a head.
My God the English language this is more exciting than I imagined.
I have my creator HTML, which contains the entire page.
The head is the tag, which is the container for title of my page.
At the moment my page is a blank one.
What we need to do next is to give it a body we'll do that next.
